About Dr. Hardy
Dr. Dale F. Hardy
I was born in Utah, but grew up in Arizona and Southern California. I attended three years at Brigham Young University followed by four years at the Southern California College of Optometry. I graduated cum laude in June 1977 with a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree.
I practiced for 6 and 1/2 years in the military and 5 years in a group practice in San Bernardino, California before moving back to Utah. South Valley Eyecare opened in August, 1994 at its present location and has grown steadily thanks to our loyal patients and their referrals.
As the practice of optometry has progressed, I have received additional training and taken additional certification tests. I am licensed as a therapeutic optometrist in the state of Utah, the highest level available. Not all optometrists are licensed at this level, since Utah does not require all current optometrists to up-grade.
I speak Spanish.
I am an active member of the Utah Optometric Association and currently serve on its Board of Trustees. I am also a member of the American Optometric Association. I also serve as a clinical examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
I am also active in the community currently serving as the Utah Clinical Director for Special Olympics Lions Club International Opening Eyes, a volunteer position that organizes eye screenings at Special Olympics events.
